As a Senior Engineer for the consultancy arm of a global automotive company, your role will be to support the development and application of sensor fusion, tracking and control solutions to a wide range of consultancy projects including driver assistance, intelligent transport and autonomous systems for organisations in the automotive, aerospace and defence industries.
Responsibilities include:
Assist preparation of project specifications e.g. technical content, costs and time
Deliver work within a project team environment to agreed technical standards, costs and time
Provide Technical and Project Management contributions to projects
Support with business development and proposal generation
Assist with Group strategic planning and technical capability development
The ideal candidate:
An engineering degree, preferably with control, radar, tracking, video processing, fusion, artificial intelligence or embedded software content. A postgraduate engineering degree (PhD/MSc) in one of these areas would be considered favourably.
Skills and experience (to include one or more of the following)
Measurement processing skills e.g. parameter estimation, signal processing (e.g. GPS, inertial sensors, radar), image processing, machine vision, filtering (e.g. linear and extended Kalman filtering), tracking, sensor fusion etc
Control and algorithm design knowledge
Modelling and simulation skills e.g. using Matlab, Simulink, dSpace
Systems engineering design experience
Software design and coding skills e.g. C, C++, software testing techniques
Solution realisation experience e.g. offline simulation based, PC based application, rapid controller development (using dSpace, Proteus, rCube), real time embedded systems implementation experience e.g. steering/braking actuator interfacing, HMI implementation (such as haptic, audible, visual), communication protocols (e.g. CAN, serial, USB)
System testing (offline, vehicle testing, customer site commissioning and support)
Project management tools and techniques
