As Motor Control Engineer with a global automotive company you will be responsible to the Motor Control Team Leader for motor control design and implementation. The design activity will cover both development of new concept algorithms (such as sensorless control, acoustic noise reduction, fault detection and advanced field weakening) and the application of motor control to high volume products. This will address the full product cycle from concept phase through to post production. The primary design targets will be high integrity for safety critical applications, high efficiency, low torque ripple, high power density and low cost to suit mass production (e.g. 1,000,000 units per year). This role would suit a recent graduate or postgraduate specialist in motor control.

The ideal candidate:
Electrical Engineering Degree/PhD with a high content of permanent magnet motor control design and analysis.
Experience of sensorless control algorithm development would be highly preferable.
Good skills in embedded software using C.
Experience with Matlab/Simulink.
Experience with laboratory test methods and data processing for motors and their associated control.
Experience with mixed mode simulator SABER.
Experience with motor control design for high volume automotive applications would be useful.
