A high calibre graduate is sought to join a highly skilled and motivated team of electromagnetic, power electronic and motor control engineers in the design and development of high-performance electromagnetic actuation systems. The primary responsibility will be electromagnetic design, analysis and optimisation using world-leading design/simulation tools and laboratory facilities to push the leading edge of actuation technology. Applications include high-performance motors and linear actuators for safety-critical automotive systems with production volumes exceeding 1 million units per year; and a wide range of actuators for the aerospace industry and other sectors. There will also be opportunities for practical and theoretical work in magnetic materials characterisation and control of electric actuators.

The ideal candidate:
Electrical Engineering or Physics Degree preferably with a high content of electromagnetic and or electrical machine design and analysis.
'A' level (or equivalent) maths and physics.
At least 8 GCSE's (or equivalent) including English, maths, and science. Other subjects would preferably include a foreign language, and technology.
Experience of writing computer programs would be useful - particularly Matlab/Simulink, C or LabView
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Enthusiasm, drive and self motivation
Flexibility to adapt in an exciting fast paced working environment
Strong team working skills
Effective communication skills
Good organisation skills
Willingness to travel
