Our client s one of the worlds largest producers of electric steering systems supplying many global vehicle manufacturers.
New business wins and continuously increasing safety standards have created the need to further strengthen the system integration engineering involved in product delivery. This role offers the opportunity to cover all technical aspects of developing an embedded electronic control system integrated with a motor drive to deliver high mechanical power output from a safety critical system. The successful candidate will combine broad knowledge and experience to develop and refine the electronic system architecture, in order to shape the application designs of the future.
Your Tasks as Electronic Systems Lead
Own the requirements management plan and strategy for next generation ECU applications, tracking progress of engineering assignments.
Drive efficiency into application development and develop a clear shared understanding of ECU application requirements and constraints, through collaborative working across functional groups.
Work in SysML with design tools (e.g. Rhapsody) to define architectures to shape electronics design, flowing down ECU requirements to detailed design level.
Support development of requirement verification methods and ensure requirement traceability & linkage in models.
Lead issue resolution activities and prepare documentation/presentation material to effectively communicate technical subject matter to audiences at working level and at senior management level
Experience of requirements engineering / management.
Experience of model based development / MBSE
Technical knowledge of electronics and embedded software development
Ability to work within a multi disciplined team to define & develop electronic system architectures for safety critical application
Engineering degree at bachelors level or equivalent.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Demonstrable ability to plan and execute technical assignments.
Willing and able to adapt quickly to new methods and new assignment objectives.
Knowledge / Experience of Automotive SPICE and ISO 26262
Experience in electronic design and an awareness of electric motor control.
Experience using Rhapsody, DOORS, Integrity, MATLAB, Simulink & dSPACE tools.
Able and willing to travel overseas occasionally
