We are currently working with the worlds largest independent company for development, simulation and testing technology of powertrains (hybrid, combustion engines, transmission, electric drive, batteries and software) for passenger cars, trucks and large engines. They are seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join their team based in the West Midlands
Your Responsibilities:
· Requirements formulation and review
· System design (including architecture)
· Component design, development, implementation, test, integration and documentation
· Maintenance and enhancement of build environment and development toolset
· Interaction with internal and external customers
· Mentoring other engineers
· Contributing to and leading projects

Your Profile:

· First degree in an engineering discipline, or comparable qualification with relevant experience
· Demonstrable ability to use the C programming language
· Demonstrable ability to use MatLab/Simulink/Stateflow (including simulation and code generation) for real time embedded control
· Thorough understanding of integer, fixed point and floating point arithmetic
· Experience of software development processes (including unit test)
· Experience of build environments (compiler, linker, allocator)
· Understanding of requirements elicitation
· Familiarity with scheduling techniques & operating systems
· Ability to represent the company in front of the customer
· Knowledge of safety as it applies to software (MISRA, ISO26262)
· Knowledge of processes in general (agile, lean, test-driven)
· English language (spoken and written)
· Driving licence valid for driving in the UK

· Higher degree in an appropriate discipline (e.g. engineering, computer science)
· Membership of a relevant professional body (Chartered)
· Experience of automotive technologies and processes
· Familiarity with assembler
· Knowledge of static code analysis tools (PolySpace, Vector Cast)
· Knowledge of micro-processors and -controllers (inc. GPUs)
· Knowledge of other high-level languages (R, Python, Swift…)
· Knowledge of AUTOSAR
· Knowledge of automotive communications (CAN, FlexRay, LIN, Ethernet, TT-Ethernet, MOST, UDS, OBD, J1939)
· A second language (German or Chinese an advantage)
